Tastykake expands recall amid metal mesh fragment concerns – KIRO 7 News Seattle

THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Flowers Foods Inc. has expanded its Oct. 31 recall of certain Tastykake products to include five additional multi-pack cupcakes and certain Krimpets products due to the potential presence of tiny fragments of metal mesh wire.

The voluntary recall was initiated following notification by a vendor of the possible contamination in a supplied ingredient and was amended following additional notification from the vendor, the recall notice stated.

While the Tastykake Krimpets products being recalled were distributed to retail customers nationwide, the affected multi-pack cupcake products were distributed in only the District of Columbia and seven states, including Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.

No injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with the recall.

Consumers are advised to discard all affected products or to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
