M4 traffic chaos: ‘Flood alert’ after terrible deluge closes both lanes in both directions.
The M4 is closed in both directions between junctions J43 Llandarcy and J42 Earlswood due to a “flood alert.”
Overnight, autumnal storms dumped a lot of rain on Wales. A flood warning has been issued for a portion of the M4. Because of floods, one lane of the M4 has been closed between junctions 43 Llandarcy and 42 Earlswood.
“Flood Warning!” tweeted Traffic Wales South.
J43 Llandarcy to J42 Earlswood on the M4 in both directions.
“Due to flooding, Lane 2 was closed in both directions.”
“Please proceed with caution and always drive in accordance with the road conditions.”
Over the last 24 hours, flood warnings have been issued in numerous parts of the UK.
The Met Office in Cumbria issued a “danger to life” warning on Thursday.
Cumbria saw up to 13 inches of rain in 24 hours in some spots.
Flooding has caused significant delays on train lines and has impacted services to Glasgow.
