The Huntsville National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Flint River near Brownsboro from late this evening through Monday morning. At 9 a.m. on Sunday, the river level was approaching flood level, at 17 feet.
The river is expected to reach a crest of 17 feet just after midnight. Minor flooding is expected to occur before the river drops below flood level on Monday afternoon.
At 17 feet, water floods a large field on the left bank upstream and inundates portions of the left bank downstream. This ridge will be comparable to a previous ridge of 17.2 feet on 12/31/20219.
The Huntsville National Weather Service issued a flood warning for the Paint Rock River near Woodville, Monday morning through Tuesday evening.
The river is expected to exceed flood level tomorrow morning to reach a ridge of 16.5 feet tomorrow night. It will then drop below flood level early Tuesday afternoon.
When the flood stage reaches 15 feet, the floodwaters mainly affect the shallows along the river. This would include the lowland farm and pastures. This compares to a previous peak of 16.5 feet on 1/17/1997.
