The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning Sunday afternoon that was effective until 7:45 p.m. for Twentynine Palms and Joshua Tree.
Radar showed thunderstorms and heavy rain across the Morongo Basin and flash flooding was expected. Additional areas that might see flooding included the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms Airport and Joshua Tree Lake Campground.
Highway 62 may be impacted and the agency encouraged anyone driving in the area to turn around if they come across flooded roads.
